Information

BarCamp is an ad-hoc ‘unconference’ born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. An ‘unconference’ is the opposite of a conference. It is not centered on an agenda with only the host making a presentation or a speech. Discussions are not limited to just one topic, but a wide range of topics. It is participant driven to the core and everyone is invited to share by default. BarCamp offers a favorable environment for young, motivated and talented people to interact. More importantly, it is where ideas get shared, created and advanced. This is not a formal gathering of black suits but an intense camp for those who strive to achieve. BarCamp is the convergence of a wide range of ideas brought forth by people – especially young ambitious innovators and entrepreneurs – from all backgrounds.

We believe BarCamp Kathmandu 2011 will be a great opportunity to network with likeminded people and interact with potential customers, clients, and maybe even competitors! If you plan to reach out to the young and motivated in Nepal, this is the place to do it. The whole event will be streamed live on the internet and recorded-and-uploaded later onto the web as well. There will be tremendous coverage of the BarCamp on the internet via blogs, facebook, twitter and other social networks. The event will have a global audience of investors, innovators and entrepreneurs.

An organizing committee to oversee the smooth execution of BarCamp Kathmandu 2011 has been formed. An approximate estimate of the budget for BarCamp has been prepared by the committee. We would highly appreciate if you could help us organize the event by sponsoring. Sponsors stand to greatly benefit in various ways from being an integral part of BarCamp Kathmandu 2011.

We look forward to meeting you at a vibrant and successful BarCamp Kathmandu 2011!

Thanking you,
BarCamp Kathmandu 2011 Organizing Committee
